BIO

Jim's leadership in higher education is evidenced by almost 40 years of success in enrollment management, retention services and student affairs. He has a deep commitment to his profession and to the work of higher education. Jim's career has been devoted to helping colleges and universities achieve their enrollment goals and student success objectives. His experience includes working with and consulting for small private colleges and medium sized universities. Jim formally brought his talents to consulting in 2007 with the establishment of the Center for College and University Leadership (CCUL). The Center provides resource help to colleges in meeting their enrollment and student success objectives.

Assessment services, program evaluation, leadership and executive coaching, staff training and developmental support for admissions and retention programs are some of the services CCUL provides. References of the firm's work are available upon request. Services are provided in person and supplemented with virtual support. These services are especially helpful to recruitment programs in need of improvement or in a time of leadership transition.

Jim's special interests are in the area of educational access. Jim's deep commitment to educational access and opportunity is evidenced in his creative development of programs and services aimed at helping those who might not otherwise have access to a college education. While at Neumann University, he was the institutional representative to the Southeast Pennsylvania Consortium of Higher Education project: Serving the Underserved. This program targets populations not commonly served by private colleges and seeks to provide support programs from access to degree completion. Jim was successful in securing grant support for Operation Second Chance. This program assists students who stopped out of college in eliminating the barriers that prevented their return to degree study. The creative program includes forgiveness for past due balances in keeping with progress toward degree completion. It includes strategic responses to student needs to help them on the path of success..

Jim also has a special interest in the use of technology in higher education. His own hobby of computer technology has spilled over into projects of distance learning, remote orientation programming, student service intervention, support and retention services. Jim wrote successful grants in support of the use of computer technologies in Admissions at Ohio Dominican University. Jim's long time interest in broadcasting and communications has lead to the development of campus radio stations at Ohio Dominican University and at Neumann University.

Jim and his wife (Cheri') have four children. The family resides in Dublin, OH (a suburb of Columbus, OH).
